Richard Spooner, CEO

Richard developed  Tollgate Health Centre which opened in 2004, and has seen his business grow.  Richard keeps his finger on the pulse of the Healthcare Industry, regularly spotting new business opportunities and areas for development at Tollgate Clinic.

When Richard is not working with Tollgate Clinic or busy with the charity Emmaus Colchester, of which he is Chairman, he also serves on the board of the Equitas Group of insurance companies and enjoys sailing and cycling.

 

Caroline Brock, General Manager

Caroline joined Tollgate Clinic having spent some time working for NHS Professionals as Trust Liaison Officer.  As General Manager Caroline enjoys using her interpersonal skills to develop relationships with the community, our client, staff and patients.

In her spare time Caroline is busy as a Chair for Colchester Ladies Circle, Trustee for Emmaus Colchester.  She also enjoys travelling and outdoor pursuits.

Caroline was one of six finalists for Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and Essex Countywide Business Awards 2014.

Paul Blacker, Information and Compliance Manager

Paul BlackerPaul joined our team in August 2017.  He previously worked at Colchester Hospital after a long career in BT.

Paul is responsible for carrying out audits of our performance through the collection and analysis of data.  He also ensures that we comply with all relevant legislation and regulations.

 

 

Lynn Hempstead, Group Accountant

Lynn has worked for the Spooners since 1989.

She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and frequently tends to her beautiful countryside garden.

 

 

 

Lynne Storey, Clinic Administrator

With plenty of experience working in a GP Practice Lynne looks after the office administration, ensuring that everything runs smoothly for our patients.

Lynne loves spending time with her children and grandchildren and has a special talent for card making and handicrafts.

 

 

 Sandra Silk, Administration Assistant & Receptionist

IMG_3575Having worked as Home Administrator for Bupa Care Homes Sandra has considerable experience in patient management systems, appointment bookings and patient liaison.

Sandra meets each patient with a smile, will answer their queries and put them at ease before their appointment with the clinician.

Sandra has just become a grandmother and enjoys gardening.

Julian Whitehead, Operations and Marketing Executive

Julian WhiteheadJulian graduated with a BA Hons in Business Management from the Southampton Solent University.

He previously worked as a Safety Training Consultant for the Wind Turbine and Civil Engineering sectors.

In his spare time he loves to travel and takes the opportunity for short breaks across Europe with friends when he can.
